Vaduz
Vaduz is the capital of Liechtenstein, and is known through out the world. It is an extremely popular tourist site, as well as a home ground for many communities. It is most commonly known for the Vaduz Castle. The Vaduz Castle, or, Schloss Vaduz in German, is where the royal family lives. It is one of the oldest landmarks in the whole world that is still standing. The majestic building overlooks the town on a hill. It was first built in the 12th century, and many addictions have been added to it since then. The Prince of Liechtenstein lives there now, and there are no visitors allowed to the castle.
One of the attractions in the Liechtenstein city of Vaduz is the Kunstmusuem Liechtenstein. The museum has hundreds of contemporary, modern, and other types of art. There are many mediums, such as oil paints or wire sculptures. The museum is open to the public, and has a café that serves sushi. There are tours available for people of all ages, from the youngest of children to adults. Many schools in the area also have field trips to this famous museum. Several times a week, there are special events held in the museum, like speeches and artist exhibitions.
One of the best things about the city of Vaduz is the fact that it is so peaceful. The county of Liechtenstein does not have a military and it is neutral, staying out of any wars. The people who are visiting the city often purchase hand made gifts from the residents, like dolls and souvenirs. Small business like these are the heart and soul of city. Along with the small markets and mom and pop stores in the city, there are also a few crops that are grown for use by residents and for economical stability. Many tourists are able to visit the vineyards, though most of the economy comes from the businesses in the city.
Liechtenstein is a very small, but very beautiful country. The businesses and attractions are larger than the population of residents, making it more of a destination for tourism than for living. The amount of tourism is astonishing, especially considering the fact that the city of Vaduz does not have any sort of airport or train station nearby. The main source of public transportation is the Liechtenstein Bus Company. Needless to say, the buses are always very full of people. The scenery in the city of Vaduz is pure and full of vegetation once one gets away from all of the businesses. It is very mountainous, and especially treasured for its many places to hike, camp, or ride a bike. Events of all kind are what the city thrives on the very most.
